Functional Art for the Discerning Collector

Work featured at buck mason stores

100% Handmade. No molds.

Each piece is one of a kind and made entirely by hand on a potters wheel.

After being thrown and trimmed, pieces are bisque fired to 1900°, then glazed and glaze fired to around 2000°. This process takes 2-3 weeks in total.

Frequently Asked Questions

Care Instructions

Although everything is dishwasher safe, I would recommend hand washing your pieces.

All pieces are microwave safe.

Packaging and Gift Wrapping

All items are shipped in kraft boxes with paper padding in an effort to keep plastic waste to a minimum.

Custom orders are all gift wrapped, with packaging depending on the size of the order.

Returns

All sales are final purchase. In the event that an item is broken when it arrives, email a photo of it and I will ship you a new one.

Is Everything Food Safe?

In short – yes. Some non-functional pieces like vases have glazes that create odd textures which bacteria can become trapped in. Nothing is toxic in these glazes, but because they are difficult to clean, I would not recommend eating or drinking out of them. Items that are not food safe will have a note in the description.

How Long do Custom Orders Take?

Custom order lead time will depending on the project, but generally try to make your inquiry at least 6 weeks from when you need your items to ensure you get them on time.

Who Makes this Stuff?

Me (Alexa Velasquez). I am a potter from Southern California. I started learning about pottery in a ceramics class in high school that I just took to fill a free period and I haven't stopped since.

All my work is on the wheel and I enjoy throwing functional tableware as well as vases and other decorative forms.
